Clearly, 200 users and 12 active posters isn’t much. This reflects the fact that it is terribly difficult to do something that satisfies all people who are somehow interested or involved in systems thinking. The field is simply too fragmented. Model report has some very active posters, especially Benjamin, who is sharing great stuff from the Internet, which helps us broaden our understanding of the field as a whole. I perfectly agree with Tom Hitchman who writes: “Even after some years, I scan, at least, every email from model.report, and still find things I spend more time on” and “really value that there is a living growing depository here and would very much like it to continue.” I have been involved with online depositories myself and clearly Model report is among the most effective and best run that I know of.

Thanks! It’s a fairly popular post, by the way.

      Best wishes,

The issue of climate change is not addressed well in the article. In 2012, Jurgen Randers, one of the original members of the Club of Rome, published “2052: A Global Forecast for the Next Forty Years”, which I summarized in a blog post: http://csl4d.wordpress.com/2012/05/14/will-the-world-overshoot-and-collapse/. The underlying calculations were done in Excel sheets that are available online for everybody to play with (and learn from).
